Saudi Rapper faces arrest for “Mecca Girl” music video

Saudi Arabian rapper, Asayel Slay, is facing arrest by the governor of Mecca for the release of her music video “Mecca Girl”.

Asayel raps about women in the city of Mecca, praising the women from the holy city as “powerful and beautiful.”

Even though the track doesn’t contain a single obscenity, insult, pornographic scene, nudity or drugs and the rapper is wearing a hijab.  The Governor of Mecca called for the arrest of everyone behind the production, tweeting that it “offends the customs and traditions of the people of Mecca and contradicts the identity and traditions of its high-ranking children.”
