Not your usual interview for you this week, but one of major importance.

Shante and the team went to Universal’s head office to interview Semtex.

Semtex is in a very prominent position at Universal, blogger, club DJ and a long standing radio DJ/host up at BBC 1Xtra.

Why would we be interview Semtex?

Good question. You see, contrary to what people might think, DJ’s, whether they play on radio or in a club, are detrimental to hip hop artists careers.

They are not recognised as much these days by the public, but the importance of DJ’s breaking new artists and their records keep the whole hip hop scene moving.

Semtex, has helped many of the home grown, house-hold names from the UK urban scene, as well as US artists secure record deals, distribution and break in the UK market place.

He doesn’t blow his own trumpet, but we know he’s the man behind many artists flourishing careers here in the UK.

That is why we interviewed him. He’s an very important cog in the wheel.
